Welcome to Summit Creek Church! We are a Bible-based, non-denominational Christian church located in Eugene, OR. We are a multi-ethnic and multi-generational church made up of babies and children, students and professionals, singles and married couples. Our Sunday service is casual and friendly with meaningful worship music, relevant teaching from the Bible, and a fun kids’ program.
The Beginning
Summit Creek Church was the second church plant sent out of Blue Sky Church in Seattle, WA. Our very first Sunday service was September 13, 2015. Planting a church in Eugene is part of a hope and plan that Blue Sky Church could plant many local healthy churches in university and metropolitan cities.
So Why Are We Called Summit Creek Church?
In 2015 our lead pastor, David Chery, was praying and asking Jesus what this new church would be called. During this period of time Isaiah 2:2-3 repeatedly stood out.
“2 It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow to it, 3 and many peoples shall come, and say: 'Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.'”
isaiah 2:2-3
The word vista means “a pleasing view,” and often implies needing to fix our eyes on it in the distance. In this life, there is nothing more necessary or wonderful than looking to Jesus in all matters of belief and practice. It is our hope that, as a church, we would do this with great passion!
