Welcome to Summit Creek Church! We are a Bible-based, non-denominational Christian church located in Eugene, OR. We are a multi-ethnic and multi-generational church made up of babies and children, students and professionals, singles and married couples. Our Sunday service is casual and friendly with meaningful worship music, relevant teaching from the Bible, and a fun kids’ program.
Summit Creek Church was the second church plant sent out of Blue Sky Church in Seattle, WA. Our very first Sunday service was September 13, 2015. Planting a church in Eugene is part of a hope and plan that Blue Sky Church could plant many local healthy churches in university and metropolitan cities.
So Why Are We Called Summit Creek Church?
In 2015 our lead pastor, David Chery, was praying and asking Jesus what this new church would be called. During this period of time Isaiah 41:17-18 repeatedly stood out.
“17 When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst, I the LORD will answer them; I the God of Israel will not forsake them. 18 I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys. I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.”
The word vista means “a pleasing view,” and often implies needing to fix our eyes on it in the distance. In this life, there is nothing more necessary or wonderful than looking to Jesus in all matters of belief and practice. It is our hope that, as a church, we would do this with great passion!
